ABOUT

I’m a self-described Renaissance Woman and Jane of All Trades. Growing up in Los Angeles, I spent my childhood “re-decorating” the house (much to the chagrin of my mom), snipping flowers from the garden into centerpieces (much to the chagrin of my dad), sketching and constructing outfits I could wear to “balls”, and because my mom was a horrible cook, experimenting in the kitchen—a family favorite was salty-sour chicken—and hijacking the preparation of T-Day dinners. Above all, I most remember just spending hours on hours playing alone, perfectly content with just me and my imagination: I was Mom packing my '“kids” their brown-bag lunches or a florist extraordinaire requesting bunches and bunches of flowers for my ninth birthday (still one of the best birthday gifts ever... Thanks, mom). Since then, I’ve spent years following my varied passions from film and journalism to cooking and food culture as an undergrad and graduate student. I enjoyed twelve years in publishing as an editor for magazines such as Gourmet, Conde Nast Traveler, Bon Appétit and Time Out and a freelance food, travel, and lifestyle writer.

My joie de vivre and curiosity has led me to live and work in places around the globe such as New York, London, Paris, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Chile and Spain; train in kitchens of Chez Panisse, The River Cafe and Le Cordon Bleu; work as a farm intern; earn my certifications as a pilates instructor, Intuitive Healer, and WSET wine expert; master (Spanish, Korean) and semi-master (French, Japanese) languages; and DIY small and large-scale gardening/design/styling/and-everything-in-between projects. I feel so grateful and blessed to thread all the connecting dots and life experiences to fulfill my life’s dream—Domestic Designer.
